In addition, individual surfaces with wood, rust or concrete looks can be created with heroal Surface Designs (SD).

heroal has been setting international quality standards in aluminium coating for decades. The new vertical powder coating system, which was commissioned at the end of 2012, is testament to heroal's commitment to future quality standards too. The heroal hwr powder coating meets the exact requirements of Qualicoat class 2 and complies with the master quality of GSB, as well meeting all ecological requirements.
With heroal Surface Design, aluminium windows, doors, curtain walls or patio roofs can be created with wood, concrete or rust looks. After having been heroal hwr powder-coated, the profiles are wrapped in a transfer foil with sublimation ink. Extreme heat creates a vacuum, and the ink cures into the powder coating. Then the foil is removed, revealing the high-quality surface look. The bonding of heroal SD and the hwr powder coating underneath is very strong. That way, heroal Surface Design (SD) provides for surfaces of excellent quality.
Thanks to coatings using heroal 2-layer thick coat, roll-formed aluminium parts, like slats for roller shutters and roller doors, are especially colour-intensive and colour-fast, as well as abrasion-proof and weather resistant. The thick coat is applied in a rolling process and then stoved at 240 °C. After the application of a clear coat, the elements are finally roll-formed. This is first class quality. Therefore, the classification society Germanischer Lloyd certified the 2-layer thick coating as suitable for being used on ships.
During the Eloxal process, the electrolytic oxidation of aluminium, direct current turns electrolytes containing oxygen on the aluminium surface into oxygen. The following reaction of the oxygen and the surface creates a build-up of aluminium oxide. The oxide provides for corrosion protection and also prevents the aluminium from further oxidation, while at the same time preserving the metallic appearance of the surface.
